SAFIR-Med Technical Meeting & Open Day
Following the executive event on the 2022/06/02 in Antwerp, SAFIR-Med partners, the City of Aachen, Droniq and RWTH Aachen University organize an expert meeting with medical and aviation partners and an open day for the public in the MAHHL Region.
Policy makers and technical experts will share their view on the future of drone traffic in Germany and Europe with invited guests in the coronation hall, in Aachen, while everyone is invited to observe the SAFIR-Med flight demonstrations and ask questions to the experts from the different fields involving urgent (medical) transport by UAS.
The vision of SAFIR-Med project is to demonstrate ways to achieve safe, sustainable, socially accepted and socially beneficial urban air mobility which will contribute to the EU healthcare system, by ensuring that future generations will continue to democratically have access to the best cure and care.
Technologies of all partners will be leveraged to make use of the maximum number of U-Space services towards the highest possible operational safety level, including advanced Detect and Avoid U-space services.
The demonstrations will enable involved cities to get acquainted with their role in U-space management and keep up with relevant regulatory changes in order to use UAM technology for the benefit of their citizens.
Since the beginning of the project back in December of 2020, the SAFIR-Med project team has been intensively preparing for the Very Large Demonstrations scheduled for this last year of the project. After the de-risking exercises in Droneport in April, SAFIR-Med entered the second half of 2022 very dynamically with a second remarkable event and more flight demos, this time with a breakthrough over populated area under EASA legislation.
In our third issue for this year, you will read about the SAFIR-Med executive Conference that took place at the Antwerp Port House, in Belgium, and about the first BVLOS flight over the Antwerp city. You will find out more about the technology behind these flights and how Normalised Systems Theory and the NS compliant code generators ensure consistent and lasting software quality of our Command-and-Control Center (C2C). You will also read about the tactical deconfliction method demonstrated in the SAFIR-Med Project and you will be updated about all the events that our partners supported. Finally, you will learn about the upcoming event and demo organised by SAFIR-Med partners on the 1st of September, in Aachen.
As always, you are invited to follow us and subscribe to the SAFIR-Med newsletter to stay up to date with all our activities and news.
