Following the executive event on the 2022/06/02 in Antwerp, SAFIR-Med partners, City of Aachen, Droniq and RWTH Aachen University organize an expert meeting with medical and aviation partners and an open day for the public in the MAHHL Region, on the September 1st, 2022. Continue reading for more information on the event.
The SAFIR-Μed project partners are inviting to the SAFIR-Μed Expert Meeting. The MAHHL-Region is the cooperation of the cities Maastricht, Aachen, Hasselt, Heerlen, Liège who have joined the urban air mobility initiative in 2018. Policy makers and technical experts will share their view on the future of drone traffic in Germany and Europe with invited guests in the coronation hall Aachen. Travel
We suggest using public transport when traveling to the city hall as all parking space around the city hall are free required.
Public Transport
When arriving by train exit at Aachen Main Station and leave the train station through the main exit. After crossing the street at the lights, take a bus of line 14, 51, or 21 to the bus station “Elisenbrunnen”.
To reach the City Hall there are multiple bus stations:

Transfer to Outdoor Event: Take busses of the line 33 and 73 from the stop Driescher Gässchen towards Uniklinikum or Vaals and exit at Uniklinikum
Arrival by Car
There are two car park relatively close by the city hall. We are inviting to observe the SAFIR-Med flight demonstrations. Watch an AED and emergency drugs being delivered to patients by drone, urgent medical transport between hospitals in the City of Aachen and between Zuyderland Medical Centre Heerlen and University Hospital Aachen. This includes one of the first cross border operations of an UAS under new EU regulation. We will also invite the public to ask their questions to the experts from the different fields involving urgent (medical) transport by UAS.
Travel

The bus station “Uniklinik” (Lines 1, 3A, 3B, 4, 5, 30, 33, 41, 43, 45, 70, 73, 80, 103 and 173) is about 550m east of the outside event location. After exiting the bus walk westbound on the Pauwelstraße and follow it until you reach the Steinbergweg. Arrival by Car
When arriving by car use the parking lot of the University Hospital Aachen (fee required; details on costs and parking space availability https://www.apag.de/parkobjekte/parkplatz-uniklinik). When parking prefer the P2 area and take a parking space as far to the north west as possible. From there go to the west until reaching the Steinbergweg and then turn right.
